Ausgaben

Das Buch erschien im englischen Original am 4. September 2000 bei HarperCollins.[12] Eine amerikanische Ausgabe folgte im März 2001 bei Houghton Mifflin.[13] Als Taschenbuch wurde Author of the Century am 20. August 2001 bei HarperCollins[14] und am 8. September 2002 bei Houghton Mifflin[5] veröffentlicht.

Das Buch wurde ins Deutsche (2002)[15], Spanische (2003)[16], Italienische (2004)[17] und Polnische (2004)[18] übersetzt.[19] Die deutsche Übertragung von Wolfgang Krege erschien bei Klett-Cotta; sie enthält anders als das Original keinen Index.[8]
